  • Includes: Parts, labour, and reasonable transportation

Protection Plan Plus FAQ

Do I need the Protection Plan Plus if I'm in Quebec with Good-Working-Order Warranty coverage?
No, but many Quebec customers choose to add it. The Good-Working-Order Warranty provides 5–6 years of manufacturer coverage (parts + labour + transport). The Protection Plan Plus adds premium benefits like preventive inspections, power surge protection, food loss coverage, and extended years beyond the Good-Working-Order Warranty's termination. It's insurance on top of insurance—optional, but valuable for peace of mind.
Why add Protection Plan Plus in Ontario and other provinces?
Without the Good-Working-Order Warranty, manufacturer warranties are typically 1–3 years. Appliances often need service beyond that window. Our Protection Plan Plus fills that gap, protecting you for years beyond the factory warranty and covering scenarios manufacturers don't (surge damage, food loss, etc.). It's practical optional insurance against costly repairs.
Can I transfer the plan if I sell my appliance?
Yes, absolutely. The Protection Plan Plus is fully transferable to the new owner at no additional cost. This adds value to your appliance if you ever sell it and gives the new owner immediate protection.
What happens if the same part fails multiple times?
Our no-lemon warranty kicks in. If the same major component fails 4 times during the coverage period, we replace your entire appliance with a model of equivalent or greater value. You won't spend years in repair cycles.
Does the plan cover power surges?
Yes. Many appliance failures stem from electrical surges (lightning, grid issues, blackouts). Our Protection Plan Plus explicitly covers surge-related damage, which standard warranties often exclude.
What if my refrigerator fails and food spoils?
We cover up to $500 in frozen food loss. If your fridge or freezer breaks down, you're not just paying for the repair—you're losing groceries. We reimburse that loss, up to $500 per claim.
Is there a deductible?
No. Zero deductible. When you file a claim, we handle it fully. No surprise out-of-pocket costs.
Can I cancel if I change my mind?
Yes. You have 10 days from purchase to cancel without penalty and receive a full refund. After 10 days, the plan continues as purchased.
Does the plan cover cosmetic damage?
No. We cover functional failures—parts that break, components that fail, systems that stop working. Cosmetic damage (dents, scratches, faded paint) is not covered. The appliance must be unsafe or non-functional to qualify.
How do I add the plan to an existing purchase?
Contact our Customer Experience Centre at 1-833-CORBEIL or speak with one of our in-store advisors. If you've already completed your purchase, you can still add the plan—we'll coordinate with you on coverage start and payment.

How can I get the Corbeil Protection Plan when I shop online?

The “extended warranty” Protection Plan will be offered in your shopping cart (before you place your order) during your online shopping session. If you wish, you can add it to your cart before placing your order.
