The settings range from 1 to 10: 1 being 10% of the total power of the microwave and 10 being 100%. The smaller the volume of your microwave, the less powerful it will be. A model of 23 litres or less will suit one- or two-person households, while large families will opt for a model of 24 to 30 litres. Larger users will choose 31 litres and more, also depending on the size of their space.

Microwave doors always open sideways, i.e., from right to left or from left to right. Neither option is better than the other, as it depends on the layout of your kitchen. Using a microwave oven instead of a traditional oven is an energy saver in itself, since it consumes 1000 watts compared to 5000 for the larger appliance. In any case, choose a model that is Energy Star® certified so it uses less energy!
