Thermal Ovens

Thermal ovens, or conventional ovens, are comprised of the classic thermal baking system, which includes a bake element situated at the bottom and a broil element at the top of the oven cavity.

Convection Ovens

Convection ovens have both convection and thermal heat. Select which option you want by considering what you are going to bake or broil. Convection ovens feature fans to to evenly distribute warm air to every corner of the oven cavity. The benefit is that food cooks faster and produces more even baking.

The Two Types of Convection

"Fan Convection systems are designed to spread heat evenly through the interior of the oven, resulting in a more uniform temperature than traditional thermal cooking.

True Convection systems include an additional heating element into the equation. This additional heating element is located behind a fan so that the warm air produced can be dispersed throughout the oven helping to ensure that a uniform temperature is achieved..

Remember, most cooking instructions and recipes are for thermal (conventional) ovens. Some ovens have the ability to automatically perform the conversion. for those that don't, owners will have to do it themselves using online tools.

Whirlpool offers both thermal and true convection models to suit your preference and budget."

Double Wall Ovens

Double wall ovens have two ovens, are available in either convection or thermal baking systems with only one control panel. This could be a great option for those who often need two separate ovens to cook multiple items at different temperatures but at the same time.

Single Wall Ovens

Self-Clean

Self-clean ovens play a role in the oven cleaning process. A feature that is commonly included is the high-heat self-clean, where the door locks and the oven cavity reaches an approximate heat of 800 °F (400°C) to incinerate most messes. Once it's finished, simply wipe out whatever food particles are present. Be prepared that this can take between two to six hours.

Steam Clean
